Urban Structures
27.04. – 07.07.2019
Annett Zinsmeister
Annett Zinsmeister’s new works are based on structures that she finds in places as diverse as in the heart of Paris, where she spent months as a flâneur, or in the former Army Experimental Station in Peenemünde, which she visited for her research on the subject of war and the city. They are elementary and functional structures of architecture: constructive, preventive, decorative – historically and/or socio-politically relevant. The artist detaches the structures from their urban contexts and adds them to creations of fictitious spaces or real room installations: Utopian and dystopian at the same time – mysterious and confusing, captivating and fascinating.
