The notion informal refers to formless and easy and in Art history to a unique style with free, expressive compositions and experimental, gestural painting, developed as a counterposition to rational geometric abstraction in Paris and gained importance in Germany from the 1950s. In addition to works by important representatives of the Informel, this exhibition also shows that there are two personalities behind the collection, each of whom sets different and even contradictory accents but knows how to unite them harmoniously under one roof.
